Bromfield High School Recipient:  Brady Quirion

Brady Quirion is a graduating senior looking to pursue Physical Therapy at Springfield College. During his time at Bromfield, he has been a member of the National Honor Society, Future Health Professionals Club in addition he has played three varsity sports: baseball, basketball, and football. He has been captain of the baseball team since junior year, and his senior year was the captain of the basketball team. He likes to spend time hanging out with my family, friends, and pets. He also loves playing sports, working out, and reading.

Quoting Brady from his scholarship essay submission:  “, I think being a physical therapist would be a great job for me for several reasons. For one, my main goal in life is to help others. Regardless of what I do, I want to make sure I leave a positive impact on the world and the people I interact with. I can help others through physical therapy by evaluating those who have been injured or have some sort of physical disability. Also, I am extremely interested in how the body works. Being an athlete my whole life, I’ve always been extremely fascinated by the human body. Finally, physical therapy requires me to be active, which is something I value in my future. Overall, I think physical therapy is a great combination of doing the things I like while also making a positive impact. Springfield has a great 6-year pre-PT program, so I see them as a good fit for my future education.  I also plan on playing college baseball. I’ve played the sport ever since I can remember, and I’ve worked extremely hard to get myself into the position where I can play and compete at a high level.

Throughout my years at The Bromfield School, I have tried my best to leave a positive impact on the school, town, and overall community. I believe that I have done so mostly through the National Honors Society (NHS). Through the NHS, I have accumulated over 25 total service hours. Although each of my volunteer hours has taught me a great amount in their own respective manner, my favorite service-type has definitely been tutoring. Through helping a 6th grader learn how to balance school-life and home-life, I have learned a large deal of patience, acceptance, and understanding. It definitely wasn’t to teach a distracted middle schooler how to study for an upcoming test, but I found it extremely rewarding once I saw his grades and confidence in school increase! Recently, I have also been helping out with Special Olympics events, and I also find that to be extremely rewarding. Overall, I think it’s very important to learn how to teach at an age like mine because it’s a skill that is carried on throughout life. Also, there’s nothing quite like the smile someone shows after learning something difficult for the first time.

I have really enjoyed my time at The Bromfield School, and I hope that I have left just as good an impact as it’s left on me. “
