How did you discover Pilates and what do you love about it?

After my first back surgery, I was searching for a safe, sustainable way to build core strength and protect my spine. I stumbled upon Pilates and was immediately hooked. I love that it offers a comprehensive, full-body workout without overstraining my system. It’s all about that deep internal connection, which has led to better stability, improved posture, and a much happier version of myself.

What do you love most about teaching?

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the spotlight! As a natural introvert, being in front of a class can be daunting, but I am deeply drawn to sharing my experiences with chronic pain. My passion for helping others navigate their own physical struggles is what pushes me past my nerves. Seeing a client find that “lightbulb moment” in their own body makes every bit of stage fright worth it.

Describe the type of client you are uniquely qualified to teach?

I’ve worked with all levels, but I truly thrive when helping clients with specific goals. Whether you’re looking to reduce chronic back pain, preparing your body for a smoother pregnancy and birth experience, or just trying to find those elusive deep muscle connections, I’m in your corner. No matter where you are in your journey, you’ll get 100% of my energy and support.

Tell us a bit about your life story

My path has been anything but linear! I was born in the Berkshires, grew up in Daytona Beach, and eventually returned to Massachusetts for college at UMass Lowell. I spent the first part of my career as a Mechanical Engineer in automation before transitioning into Software Engineering and the Medical Device sector. Currently, I work for a global organization as a Quality Assurance Business Capability Owner, where I implement complex IT systems across Pharma and Diagnostics. I’m a “big picture” thinker who loves using data to drive real-world quality improvements.

What is life like for you outside the studio?

I live in Ayer with my partner, Jim, our two Akitas (Mitzumii and Titan), my daughter, and our “grand-fur-baby,” Percy. I have two amazing adult children who make me incredibly proud: my son, Dante, a Computer Science grad working in IT, and my daughter, Cheyenne, who is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. I’m not a big traveler; I’m happiest spending time outside with my dogs. I like to say I live a “boring” life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

How would your family describe your personality?

My kids call me “stubborn,” but I prefer the term “determined!” They’d also tell you I’m a mix of sarcasm, strength, and dependability. I’m the person you can always count on to be caring, thoughtful, and probably a little bit witty.

If you were stranded on an island, what 3 things would you want with you?
  1. A Radio: Because sometimes you just need to turn up the music and dance it out.
  2. My best friend, Cassandra: We’ve been besties for 40 years. We’re complete opposites, which would definitely keep island life interesting!
  3. Electrolytes: I truly cannot live without them.

Your dream vacation…

Portugal. Having seen breathtaking photos of my ex-husband’s family’s homeland, it has always been at the top of my list. I love both cooking and eating Portuguese food, so a trip there would be a dream for the scenery and the cuisine alike.

What’s one thing that people don’t know about you?

I’m a secret introvert! Most people are surprised to learn that I actually fear teaching. I’m much more comfortable sitting in the back of a room than being the center of attention, but Pilates gives me the courage to step out of my shell.

Fun fact?

When people first meet me, they often think I’m quiet or even “unapproachable.” In reality, I’m just guarded. Once that guard comes down, you’ll find I’m actually filled with silliness, sarcasm, and plenty of laughs.

When you were little you thought you were going to grow up to be….?

It was a toss-up between a Radio City Rockette or a professional race car driver!
