How did you discover Pilates and what do you love about it?
Inspired by my mother’s classes at Bodylines Pilates, I transitioned from a casual observer to a passionate instructor. Watching her teach with such clarity and intention motivated me to deepen my own practice and pursue teaching as a way to help others discover the power of movement. I am incredibly grateful for the chain of introductions to Pilates—from Kim to my mother, and finally to me—that sparked this life-changing journey into the world of Pilates.

What do you love most about teaching?
Driven by a lifelong desire to help others, I aim to become an Occupational Therapist specializing in pediatrics to empower children with independence and joy. This same mission fuels my passion for teaching movement, where I find fulfillment in helping people build physical confidence and discover their inner strengths. For me, there is no greater motivation than making a tangible impact on someone’s well-being and supporting their personal growth.

Describe the type of client you are uniquely qualified to teach?
My clients often highlight my high energy and “pep” as defining traits—proving that while my wardrobe might be neutral, my personality provides plenty of color. I’ve often been described as someone who loves to talk, connect, and really get to know people, as well as someone who brings a lot of energy into a room.

Beyond my enthusiasm, I offer a unique perspective by blending my Pilates expertise with my Occupational Therapy studies. This dual path allows me to bring a deeper level of anatomical understanding and clinical value to every session, ensuring my clients feel both supported and empowered.

Tell us a bit about your life story.
A lifelong Massachusetts local (graduated from Ayer-Shirley H.S.) and University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown psychology graduate, I am currently an Applied Behavior Analyst at Nashoba Learning Group supporting children with Autism. My professional background is diverse, including a seven-year tenure at Kimball’s that earned me the title of “ice cream connoisseur.” I am now preparing for graduate school to earn my Master’s in Occupational Therapy, continuing my commitment to a career centered on helping others.

What is life like for you outside the studio?
When I am not in the studio, I am probably either at work or at home. I currently still live with my mom and her partner Jim, who have 2 Akita’s whom I am in love with. I myself have a cat named Persephone who screams at me every time I walk through the front door (even though she is all the way upstairs), which I will never get tired of. Something I love to do every week is my nails, which I do while watching my current favorite show (right now that would be Modern Family).

How would your family describe your personality?
I asked a few people in my family to describe my personality, and this is what I was told (which in no way surprises me). I was told that I am very stubborn, determined, diligent, and caring. I am someone who will do anything to help others around me. I have also been referred to as spicy by a person or two. I am someone who will support you no matter what, I will be with you through thick and thin, but I am also someone who will also keep it real with you!

If you were stranded on an island, what 3 things would you want with you?
I would bring bug spray (I do not do bugs), a filtration system for water, and some form of shelter.

You’re dream vacation.
My dream vacation is a multi-stop journey through Southern Europe:
Greece & Italy: Starting with a few days in Greece before taking a train through Italy.
France: Continuing by rail to the South of France, including a day in Paris.
Portugal: Ending in Madeira, my ancestral home.

The highlight would be connecting with my heritage in Madeira—tasting the local food, seeing the sights, and finally meeting relatives I’ve never known.

Favorite food:
A dish was called Chef Surpresa, from a Portuguese restaurant in Lowell (unfortunately it’s now closed). It was made with linguica, shrimp, scallops, and garlic, all covered in a special sauce that I would soak up with bread.

Perfect morning:
My perfect morning starts at 10:00 AM, relaxing in a clean house while it rains outside. I’d cuddle with my cat, knowing my best friend is nearby (my Mom), and enjoy breakfast in bed—strawberry and whipped cream crepes—while catching up on my favorite show.

Fears:
Spiders, bugs, bugs with wings… needless to say if there is any form of bug I am gone!
