What is Integrative Physical Therapy?
Integrative physical therapy offers a holistic approach to physical therapy care that focuses on working with the whole body, targeting root dysfunctions, maximizing the body’s self-healing mechanisms, regulating the stress response, and integrating your physical therapy with your exercise routine.
Our goal is that there is a seamless integration with any physical therapy treatments and applying that information to your workouts at Bodylines or any other workout routine.
As Physical Therapists we are be able to address injuries, chronic pain, acute pain, muscle imbalances, gait analysis, & postural assessments. Unlike traditional PT, we will be doing a full body assessment rather than the one area approved by health insurance. Once an assessment is completed, we will be able to guide your instructor at Bodylines on what you need integrated into your workout or omitted. In addition, we have many other services we can provide for you that will help you to meet your goals. Read below for more information. (Please note that our Physical Therapy Services are not insurance based, they are private pay)
At Bodylines, we always start with a thorough Assessment and Evaluation. Upon assessing your movement patterns, muscle recruitment, any aches and pains or injuries, we then can progress to treatment options and tools:
Just to give you an idea of some of the services we can provide:
- Dry Needling: A treatment that involves inserting an acupuncture-like needle into the trigger point or affected muscles. It’s used for pain reduction, releasing muscle tension, increasing blood flow, and recovery.
- Cupping therapy: An ancient healing method that involves placing special cups on the skin to create suction. This therapy is believed to increase blood flow to the affected areas and may help with various conditions.
- Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM): A practical manual therapy treatment to help relieve pain from soft-tissue injuries. Physical therapists use specially designed tools to help remodel scar tissue, increase range of motion, promote tissue healing, and decrease pain. The IASTM is designed to improve blood flow and scar tissue mobility, decrease muscle spasms and improve healing.
- Kinesiology taping: Using specific medical grade tape to provide support, reduce pain and swelling, and increase blood flow. Helpful in treating injuries and improving performance.
